automated guided vehicle (AGV)

A driverless, mobile vehicle used to transport materials that follows a guided path (tapes, wires, reflectors, or defined laser routes) rather than freely navigating like an AMR.

Classic AGVs are common in manufacturing and intralogistics and are typically less flexible than AMRs.
