ISO 3691

ISO 3691‑4 is the core international safety standard for driverless industrial trucks and their systems—i.e., AGVs and truck‑like AMRs used in industrial environments.
  1. Scope: Specifies safety requirements and verification methods for driverless industrial trucks (AGVs, AGCs, AMR “trucks”, tunnel tuggers, under‑carts, etc.) and their overall system.
  2. Applies to trucks that:
  3. Operate automatically under a control system, with or without riders.
  4. May have manual modes for operation or maintenance.
  5. Excludes: public‑road use, explosive atmospheres, nuclear environments, special hygienic applications, and certain special load types (e.g., molten metals).
